Diagnosis

The next morning a whole bunch of people come into my room, including the ward doctor, the cardiology ward doctor, a speech therapist, the nurse who was there all night, a physiotherapist and even more. I’ll be brought up to date. According to the examination so far, I had a stroke in the pons. To be more precise, the diagnosis is “Apoplexia Brainstem infarctus pons fossa rhomboidea paramedian ius”. No, this is not my cat running over my keyboard, it is the actual diagnosis....

Doomsday

It’s June 23rd 2021. My birthday. My wife booked a table at a Restaurant and we had a nice evening with good talks and nice food. It’s 08:30 PM as we decide to leave and drive home. The drive is an easy ride - not much traffic, a really nice summer evening. We are near our home, about 1km left, as my vision suddenly changes. I am not able to focus on things that I want to, and so I decide to stop the drive and wait until this is over....
